Last Day of the Year 2010
a winter garden
Yesterday was unseasonably warm, so the girls played outside for a while. Of course, we had mud too, but that was part of the fun!the last snow
I really like this lens; i focus it manually inside, but outside, i used the auto focus and it worked quickly and well most of the time.
I love the neutral background of winter. I love the browns and grays. I love the texture of bare trees and grasses. Some of my favorite pics were taken on mild winter days.
Here are some pics of our happy, muddy day.
Emmy was so proud of her snow man. he's sort of reincarnated from a previous snowman.
She's using a snowball maker to transport hay, mud, and melted snowman pee.
And rocks, we can't play outside without using rocks.
Back to the puddle we go!
Madge.
I love using this long lens to capture shots of Madge. I can sit back far enough that she is disinterested in what I'm doing. It's lovely not having that wet sticky nose all over the front of my lens.
Not the best shot technically, but I adore the textural background of my ornamental grass and sedum.
Taking a break and thinking about her favorite food: egg salad sandwiches
Cleaning mud off her new boots.
Love that red hair!
Madge is helping her clean her boots
A favorite picture. Happy New Year everyone!

MOMMY! IWANTAWACHA'MACALLIT THING-A-MA-BOB!!!!
Christmas and Candy Canes
Yeah, and so after all of the extravagance of christmas, and wallet-throwup everywhere, all i can say is "i want a....!!!"
I've spent my time off perusing my favorite photoblogs. I love photoblogs! If i didn't have a job that forced me to leave the house everyday, I'd spend my entire day reading photoblogs, discovering photoblogs, adding photoblogs to my google reader.
Anyhow I stumbled on this site
and saw this book:
Visual Poetry: A Creative Guide for Making Engaging Digital Photographs by Chris Orwig
and added it to my wish list.
The end.

Fall 2010
some fall pics. I thought the colors were so beautiful this year.
Cooper's Rock State Forest
We love to go here every fall and have a camp fire and cookout
The view from my yard, Zebra grass and trees
Cosmos, they began to bloom in late summer and are still going strong!
Happy little cosmos
Cosmos flowers are so photogenic!
Emmy at a park, I love the fall leaves behind her
Darling Hubby at Cooper's Rock, this pic is exactly how I see him, rugged and handsome! :-)
Wooly Worm, a sure sign that Winter is on it's way!
Bibi, I get so few good pictures of her...she's always on the move
I have lots of these pics with Emmy and the fall leaves, I couldn't decide which i liked best!
Zebra Grass and the Sunset
The sunset over our winter pool cover (no kidding). I thought the refection was so beautiful I had to capture it.
Hope you enjoyed the pic. Thanks for sharing some lovely fall moments with me.
