In Defense of Hubbie
Ok, so hubbie was taken aback when he glanced at my Transitions post. Really, hubbies shouldn't look at blogs sometimes. So, in defense of him (he thought you all would think he was a pig), I must tell about the wonderful surprise he did while I was gone. He painted the girls bedroom and ours. Up to this point we just had the white primer paint on the walls. He also created two chalkboards over each girl's bed with chalkboard paint and molding (painted in a complementary color). He used a router on the bottom piece of molding to create a chalk tray.
In our room he built me a bigger and better bookshelf (that's a man after my own heart), chose a perfect color of paint, rearranged a few things, cleaned it, and found a gorgeous bed in a bag on a fabulous sale. Candles and flowers completed it. It was beautiful. He has the designer's gift, I definitely don't.
So now I'm feeling slightly ashamed of myself. He is a good hubbie.

I didn't think he was a pig! It is a tricky thing looking after kids all day and keeping a house clean. I don't do a very good job most days. Either the kids are happy and the house is a mess or the house is tidy and the kids are miserable.
Good work on the painting. I wanted to do a chalk board in Clarabel's room but we never got around to it and now we're out of wall space.
Whaaaat?! He thought all that up AND got it done in 2 weeks? And still had time to streak? o.0
Really good idea about the chalk boards above the beds, I have two that share a room with bunk beds but if they ever get their own rooms I think I will try that.
Wow, what a wonderful man you married! You should thank God every day for such a shining example of a husband. He really deserves to buy all the bike parts he needs. Or maybe even another bass guitar or two. You couldn't cherish than man enough.
Call if you want to know who the anonymous post is from.
My guess is that Bare Hare Hubbie changed his name to anonymous, yes?
Everyone is entitled to a meltdown every so often. Our husbands have strong shoulders, but then again, so do their wives.
I think biking in the nude should be banned. Can everyone say, uncomfortable? It just doesn't seem to fit that a bike seat up the bum is a good thing. Still a very funny visual image.
Hi Lydee!
I am so glad to find you. Your blog is so fun and funny. I adore my husband, too. He's the best...truly. And yet, I find myself unable to avoid grumbling every now and then!
BTW Anonymous is very generous with his praise. Oops, I mean their praise. I am sure no husband would stoop so low as to post an anonymous message on their wife's blog. :—)
It sounds great! Send photos my way. (hint, hint)
sounds like hubbie did some good work while you were gone. very nice! remind hubbie that as humans we just need to vent our frustrations. it doesn't mean we love them any less. i have a husband who is darn near perfect, but there are still times or things he does that drive me crazy. it doesn't mean i don't love and appreciate the good things. it's a fact of life: no one is perfect. although it sounds like your new decorating may be pretty perfect.
Anonymous is a good friend of my husband. He is Sheryl's hubbie. Sheryl was my commrade at the Full Monty if you hadn't figured that out already. Hubbies had just went out for breakfast yesterday morning, probably to discuss how crazy their wives are.
